Could have been better…
I have had several policies with Scottish Friendly of the years and have been satisfied with the service. However, with a 15 year plan maturing on the 1st Jan 2023, I have had the worst possible service and although I've had my money through now, I doubt very much if I would have, had I not e-mailed and phoned the company many times and been given the run around.
2.2.23 Further correspondence with Scottish Friendly today, they have upheld my complaints and have awarded me with £200 in compensation. I am pleased with the outcome but would have preferred not to have gone through the whole process.

Straightforward to set up a donation into our grandson’s account and prompt confirmation that all had been completed properly.

Really easy to set up a savings…
Really easy to set up a savings accounts and ISA. Great communication and they keep me updated about my account. Very happy.
Not great at communicating
I am still trying to find out how my investment is performing and so far this year I have tried three times to contact Scottish Friendly with no response, not a professional organisation as far as customer facing contact goes.
I have now been contacted so adding another couple of stars, hopefully things will improve.

Don't sign up for the cashback
Scottish Friendly offer cashback bonuses that it later declines paying.
I signed up to Scottish Friendly, over a year ago via topcashback. It seemed like a good deal. I have made regular savings every month and followed through. A year later they declined to pay the cashback stating that I did not follow terms and conditions without offering any other explanation.
The product works ok. But I had been hoping for a extra bonus that hasn't materialised. Will be closing my account soon for this reason.
It seems many other people have had issues from the reviews on TCB. The company seem to offer very generous bonuses then wait a year before declining to pay them or fobbing them off. That seems a bit shady to be honest so I don't trust them.

They are really easy to do business with and the application is very straightforward. Good follow up paperwork too. Would highly recommend.

It was straightforward applying for my Scottish Friendly account. After reading about them they seem to be very customer focused which I like. I hope it’s the start of a wonderful relationship with myself and Scottish Friendly to build a nest egg for mine and my family’s future.
Trying to claim a policy from overseas…
Trying to claim a policy from overseas that my late mum set up for my son. My son keeps calling them and emailing them. They are polite on the phone but after 7 months still haven’t paid out the policy. All the required documents and overseas transfer documents have been provided and my son has sent several unanswered emails. My late mum would be disgusted with you.
Your reply is standard re sending policy to customer service. We’ve sent you emails and you don’t respond. Avoid this company
Reliable ACCOUNT
I always like a reliable savings account that I cannot touch even when I am tight every now and then, this is something I want to look forward to when in needed right time comes.

Outrageously unprofessional
My son was 18 over 7 months ago and should have received funds from a trust fund. He still has not received a penny, despite constantly being lied to and told the money is on its way. His emails are ignored and he gets told a pack of lies everytime he calls. I am taking this matter to the Financial Ombudsman it's an absolute disgrace.
